More specifically, Greek exports to the USA increased by 14%, reaching 300 million Euros,
while Switzerland is emerging as an important market, where at an annual increase of
334% for the period looked at Greek exports reached 205 million Euros, India, with an
increase of 134%, Japan with an increase of 3% and Brazil with 10%. This positive tendency
in the particular markets at this specific international economic recession, creates oppor-
tunities for further infiltration and consolidation of Greek products

From data provided by the Bank of Greece concerning Greek foreign trade for the first
five months of 2014, we can see (as could be expected) a strong decrease in receivables
from services exported, to the order of 23.2%, relative to the same period in 2013.
Looking at service exports in categories, we can see that the most significant drop, by 27%
comes in trasportation, with 66% of total service exports, while tourism and other services
show a lower reduction to the order of 14%. Therefore, the need for an active effort towards
growth in export activities in the other services categories , beyond transportation, which
today are the sector leaders.
